Thanks to European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) in collaboration with the Vietnam National Opera Ballet (VNOB), trends in the European contemporary dance scene can be savored in Hanoi on 8th and 9th September at Youth Theatre, 11 Ngo Thi Nham Str., Hanoi. Three different pieces will be performed in each evening.

A new piece Fire Fly’s Season (by VNOB) about love in its various forms is the opening scene of the show. Afterward, Karine Pontier of Wallonie-Bruxelles delegation will grant audiences a terrific performance of her piece named Benedetto Pacifico, danced by Ricardo Machado. This particularly innovative Belgium piece is about the inside fears that each person has to face and the mysterious figure that haunts his imagination.

A German-Vietnamese co-production will take the stage for the rest of the show. The German choreographer, Hans Henning Paar, developed a new piece with dancers from VNOB. To the passionate music of Franz Schubert the dance piece “Death and the Maiden”, which tells a story about a girl at first resists but ultimately gently accepts her death, was created.

Free tickets are available from Monday, 5 September at Goethe-Institute Hanoi, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street or please contact number 04-37342251/52/53 for further information.
