Bus Stations in Hanoi

Hanoi is well-connected with other provinces throughout the country.

There is a wide range of choices when it comes to transportation if one departs from Hanoi, the capital city: plane, train, and bus. You can even hire a motorbike if you are confident in your riding skills. However, if you're tired of waiting for check-in at the airport or train station and want to save some money, the bus can prove to be a smart alternative.

One of the most exciting ways to immerse yourself in local life is to travel alongside locals on the bus between provinces. If you want professional services and a precise schedule, consider paying a little extra to book a ticket for an open tour at your travel agent. However, if you don’t mind keeping a close eye on your belongings and sitting among strangers who may not speak your language, just head to the terminals!

There are six main bus terminals in Hanoi that are strategically located at essential gateways of the city:

Giap Bat Terminal (Ben xe Giap Bat)

This bus terminal mainly focuses on south-bound routes to provinces such as Da Nang, Buon Ma Thuot, and Ho Chi Minh City. However, from here you can also catch buses heading to other provinces in Northern Vietnam like Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, and Thanh Hoa.
