Medical University of Ho Chi Minh City is one of the two most reputable medical universities in Vietnam beside Hanoi Medical University. Former format of this university was Saigon Medical University which was opened in 1947 by French colonial as another campus of Hanoi Medical University.
At present, the major mission of the school is to supply adequate labor to hospitals and other medical centers in not only South area of Vietnam, but also the other regions in Vietnam and nearby countries like Laos or Cambodia. Moreover, Medical University of Ho Chi Minh City also serves as a research center where numerous medical projects are conducted and studied to be implemented on practice, as well as assist in societal medical plan of Vietnamese authorities. This university also offers health care services via its own clinic in the past and hospital at present.
The university is currently offering courses in 7 faculties including Medicine, Drug, Dental and Oral Health Care, Public Health Care, Traditional Medicine, Nursing and Basic Science. Lecturing team in this place includes excellent doctors, professors and masters who are experienced in various areas of medicine and health care.
