Radio The voice of Vietnam is an officially national radio station which is under monitored of Ministry of Information and Communication in term of broadcasting, frequencies and transmission. This is the hugest as well as most popular radio station in Vietnam with broadcasting range covering entire territories of Vietnam and millions of frequent audiences. Moreover, broadcasting range of VOV excesses Vietnam’ border to South East Asia, Africa, Europe and America.

Serve as the voice of Vietnamese government to people, VOV is currently playing various functions in different aspects. They include propaganda and popularizing policies and orientation of the government; news reporting; educating with lessoning programs in different area like language, science or culture; entertaining to serve leisure lives of people; assisting or directing people in specific topics like traffic. Most of programs produced by VOV are in Vietnamese, but there are also ethnic language programs (VOV4) in Khmer, H’Mong, Ede, Bana, Thai or Sedan for minor communities, as well as programs with foreign languages (VOV5) in English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Mandarin, Germany, Laos or Thais to serve foreign communities in predominantly Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh Province and other zones around these destinations.

At present, VOV is developing a wide range of media products, including:

  • Traditional and online radio programs: That is the main products of VOV with diverse channels in various area including: VOV1 (News and Politic), VOV2 (Culture and Society), VOV3 (Music, information and entertainment), VOV4(Radio for ethnic people), VOV5 (Radio for foreigners in Vietnam), VOV6 (Radio for oversea Vietnamese), VOV-GT (Traffic).
  • Visual radio: VOV is currently providing VOVTV which is broadcasted from 6am to 0.00am on cable TV system of Vietnam Television (VTV).
  • Online newspaper: VOV also has an online newspaper on its homepage (http://vov.vn/) with information and news in a wide range of areas in society.
