Da Lat flowers to boom again for annual festival
Da Lat 's fourth annual Flower Festival will take place from December 30, 2011 to January 3, 2012.
Romance-in-the-air Da Lat (or Dalat) surely has a lot more to offer, but eventually the "city of flowers" residents are proudest of the beauty of their floral paradise.
And that's why the people of Da Lat are now in overdrive mode once again to prepare for this year's fourth annual Flower Festival, which will take place from December 30, 2011 to January 3, 2012.
The main goal of this year's event is to attract a large number of tourists, foreign and domestic alike. The activities will spread across the whole of Da Lat, but center around the 1.2-ha area on the shore of Xuan Huong lake, which has been dubbed as the "hill of flowers" and features varieties of all four seasons. Installation of many foreign-originated flowers also aims to make international tourists feel more familiar and at home.
Officials have declared that this year's event is dedicated to the contribution of the many florists of the city, for it is because of their passion that Da Lat has earned its famous name.
After the grand opening on December the 31st, there will be other activities such as street dances and organized tours to traditional villages as well.
