Painting exhibition of memories of ancient Hue
An exhibition titled “Memories of Hue” is projected to be held at Tu Do Gallery (53 Ho Tung Mau, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) from 7 to 27 July 2012.
An exhibition titled “Memories of Hue” is projected to be held at Tu Do Gallery (53 Ho Tung Mau, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) from 7 to 27 July 2012.
33 oil and silk paintings by two well-known painters, Nguyen Khoa Nhy and Ton Nu Tuong Hoa are expected to be exposed. While Nguyen Khoa Nhy contributes 9 oil painting, Ton Nu Tuong Hoa brings to the exhibition 9 oil paintings and 15 silk ones.
The pictures ring memories of the old Hue city, expressed in various fields, from people to nature, society to culture and from the past to the present.
Nguyen Khoa Nhy was born in Phan Rang (Ninh Thuan), but he spent a long time of his youth in Hue City when he studied at Hue Fine Art College. The painter is famous for numerous masterpieces about the old Hue city such as “Ve Coi” (Back to the homeland) and “Vong Tay Me” (Mother’s arms).
Ton Nu Tuong Hoa is well-know with oil and silk painting of Hue City, particularly on flowers and Hue’s women. Featured elements in painting of this painter are ancient and isolated theme on them, with sorrow colors.
Hue the most undamaged relics of Vietnam, is the ancient capital of Vietnam during Nguyen dynasty (1802 – 1945). It remains a slow and peaceful city though recent decades of rapid development of Vietnam.
