Do I need a visa to go to Ho Chi Minh City

Yes and no - it really depends on where you are from. The same rule for a Vietnam visa applies for travelers to Ho Chi Minh City. Most Southeast Asian nationals such as Singaporeans, Malaysians, Thai, Filippinos, ... and some other nationalities such as Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Dannish, .. do not need a visa for Vietnam for stay of one month or less. All other else will require a visa.
