Ho Chi Minh City expects to welcome 5 million international visitors by 2015
Information from the HCMC Culture, Sport and Tourism Department reveals that the provincial plan to transform the structure of the economy for the period 2012-2015 sets a high priority on increasing the number of international tourists.
Information from the HCMC Culture, Sport and Tourism Department reveals that the provincial plan to transform the structure of the economy for the period 2012-2015 sets a high priority on increasing the number of international tourists.
Accordingly, the estimated average growth rate of HCMC’s tourism industry would be 8% annually and the total profit would increase by 20% each year.
In 2012, the number of international visitors in HCMC is expected to reach 3,780,000, with the total revenue at USD32.3 million. With the new development plan, the city aims at receiving 4.1 million foreign visitors and USD37.4 million by the end of 2013. Until 2015, these numbers are expected to reach 5 million visitors and USD52 million.
In attempt to accomplish this mission, the HCMC Culture, Sport and Tourism Department has designed a specific plan to enhance the efficiency of governmental management on tourism activities; along with minimizing administrative procedures in order to create a more flexible environment for tourism investors. Besides, HCMC considers boosting international trades the most important key to improve the service quality and help diversify the variety of tourism products.
With this new plan, international tourist may looking forward to a safe, friendly, active and civilized Ho Chi Minh City by 2015.
