The People Committee of District 8 in Ho Chi Minh City, in association with Indochina Junk Company, has officially launched an inner waterway circular tour within Ho Chi Minh City.

This is a special product designed based on suggestions of local tourism experts, who believe daily activities of multicultural communities along these canals have great potential for developing tourism, particularly attracting international travelers. In addition, this is also considered an effort from local authorities to preserve traditional lives and historical relics along these inner waterways.
This cruise tour, starting from Bach Dang Quay in District 1, is able to carry 25 passengers and lasts for about 4 hours, with various attractions on its itinerary, including Ben Nghe and Tau Hu canals or Vo Van Kiet Avenue. Visitors on this cruise are served with vegetarian lunch during the tour when they port at Long Hoa Pagoda on Binh Dong Pier in Ward 15 (District 8).
At present, the local authority of District 8 and Ho Chi Minh City is observing the performances of this cruise tour, and planning for allowing more tourism companies to create similar tourism products within those city’s canals.
Ho Chi Minh City with its diverse system of inner waterways and city’s canals, has great potential to establish cruise tourism. In addition with several historical and cultural relics along these waterways, it is predicted that this kind of tour will be trendy in the foreseeable future, with both attention of domestic and international travelers.
