The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre has announced that the project to restore Dien Phuoc Princess Temple had been launched with a ceremony on November 13.
The project is funded VND 2.2 billion (US$105,000) by the UNESCO World Heritage at Japan’s Waseda University. This investment is used in various sections, including re-constructed parts of the temple based on traditional architecture and building techniques.
An advantage of the project is that the majority of temple’s architecture, such as interior and outer decoration, as well as artifacts inside likes the bronze book on the Princess’s merit has been preserved greatly, which makes the restoring process more effective.
This temple was constructed in 1854 to worship Princess Dien Phuoc, the oldest daughter of King Thieu Tri of Nguyen Regime. The temple was created with extraordinary architecture and imperial palace construction techniques, which reflects the importance of it and Princess Dien Phuoc in Vietnam’s history.
