A team of international tourism experts is visiting Vietnam on 11th July with main purpose to discuss with the national tourism administration strategy to develop this industry. This is funded by European Union via its Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism (ESRT) project in Vietnam.
The experts are supposed to support Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) to develop a medium-term plan with duration of 1 to 3 years, and another long term plan to enhance tourism industry.
In addition, the group also assists VNAT to conducting marketing activities in several crucial markets, including collecting and analyzing market data, improving communication channels and marketing tools. Trademark concept in tourism is also regarded as another priority in the discussion between the groups and VNAT.
Vietnam is current considered an attractive tourism destination thanks to its diversity in tourism genres and cheap cost of travelling. In the first half of 2012, Vietnam tourism has welcomed more than 3.36 million international tourists, contributing a revenue of around VND75,000 billion.
