Lao Cai welcomes more than 600,000 tourists for first 6 months

The figure is 8.89% higher over the same period last year, in which international traveler makes up 45% (26.6% higher than same period last year) of the whole picture. The report also indicates that Lao Cai, Bac Ha and Sapa in particular, are the most popular tourist destinations of travelers for the first 6 months of 2012.
Along with the increase of visitors, revenue from tourism industry in this province reached VND1.127 billion (USD 52.4million), which is 53.29% higher than same period last year.
These positive changes are supposed to be the result of Lao Cai tourism administration’s effort in enhancing quality of tourism industry, as well as diversifying tourism products to fulfill demand of different customers.
Lao Cai province is a popular tourist destination in Northwest area of Vietnam with various famous attractions such as Sapa and Bac Ha. Travelers come to the province to not only enjoy magnificent nature, but also to explore diverse cultures of ethnic people.
