Besides featuring traditional culture and modern life as usual, the up coming New Year Flower Festival in Ho Chi Minh City focuses on sea and island topic, said the city’s vice chair Hua Ngoc Thuan. The New Year Flower Festival is going to take place from January 18th to 28th, while Nguyen Hue flower road displays from January 20th to 26th and flower markets opens from January 16th to 22th, 2012.
This New Year Flower Festival keeps following its familiar format in which Nguyen Hue road is decorated with diversified flowers and trees, a flower festival is held at Tao Dan Park, and 45 flower markets are organized across the city. A big zone in Nguyen Hue road is dedicated for flower-made mock-ups of Vietnamese coast and sea. In addition, various music shows on sea and islands are expected to bring about excitement.
First organized in 2004, Nguyen Hue flower road and the New Year Flower Festival in general have been an indispensable part in the city’s activities to welcome New Year and celebrate Tet holiday.
As a tropical country, Vietnam is home to numerous kinds of flowers and spring is the best time for them to boast their beauty. A grandiose flower festival in the heart of the city does not only appreciate the natural beauty of the country, but also brings citizens closer to the nature, and creates a peaceful and vibrant atmosphere at the very first moments of a new year.
