Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism (MOCST) has decided to organize the second Chan-Kate Cultural Day in Ninh Thuan in 2011. The Cultural Days will take place at the end of September and the beginning of October, which is the beginning of July according to Cham’s calendar.
Accordingly, the MOCST representative office in Ho Chi Minh City shall coordinate with the Department of Ethnic Culture, the MOCST units, departments, branches and localities to organize the Cultural Days.
Cham – Kate Cultural Days is an event held annually to honor the gods blessing their village and wish for peacefulness, favorable weathers, prosperity and happy lives for the minor ethnics. This is also an event in active response to National Tourism Year in South Central Coast – Phu Yen 2011 with a goal to introduce and promote the culture as well as the traditional arts of Cham people in general and contribute to the development of Ninh Thuan tourism in particular.
