The national flag carrier of Vietnam – Vietnam Airline has launched the first direct air route to Jakarta, Indonesia on December 2.

With this new route, air travellers may fly from HCMC to Jakarta at ease on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday with one flight per day. As planned, flights on this route take passenger around 3 hours, departing from HCMC at 10:00 and arriving at Jakarta at 13:00, then coming back 45 minutes later. Airbus A31 airplane is chosen by the airline to fly this route.
On the same day, a ceremony is held at the Soekarmo-Hatta Airport in Jakarta to celebrate the event with the attendance of Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Nguyen Xuan Thuy, representatives from Indonesia’s Aviation and Customs Departments, the State Company Pusa Angkara, and other partners of the airline.
Ambassador Thuy highly appreciates this new air route that he regards as not only a mean to satisfy the increasing demand of traveling between two countries, but also a bridge to connect the culture of the two countries and a push to bilateral relations Vietnam-Indonesia and the mutual development of South East Asia in general.
With this new air route, Vietnam Airline sets its second international air route launched in 2012, as well as increases its international air network to 28 destinations. Together with the new born of HCMC-Jakarta, the airline also issues a promotional ticket discount of 22%, which costs only VND2,905,000 for return tickets and VND7,085,000 for HCMC – Jakarta – Bali trip (before tax).
These promotional prices are applied only for tickets purchased from October 22 to December 31, and for departures between December 2 2012 and March 30 2013.
