International travelers to Vietnam jumps by 9.4%
Statistic from Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reports that foreigners arriving to Vietnam for the first 8 months of 2012 reach 4,384,998, which is 9.4 % higher than the same period last year. In August solely, this number is 525, 292, equivalent to the increase of 6.5% compared to July, but 4.3% lower than August 2011.
Among these travelers, Chinese still contributes the largest amount, followed by Korea, Japan and the US.
Vietnam Airlines to increase number of flights during National Day
In response to massive increase of travelers during National Day 2/9, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is operating more flights during this period of time. All of extra flights are on domestic routes, with rush ones such as Hanoi, HCMC – Danang, Danang – Hai Phong or Hanoi – Vinh. It is estimated that there are more than 84,000 seats added in all class for customers on VNA additional flights during this high time.
