This weekend is expected to have cloudy skies and hot weather with heat index hovering around 35oC. There is a likelihood of scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon, followed by overcast in the evening. Despite the high heat, there are a number of amazing events to have a blast this weekend. Don’t forget the concert with Berliner Symphoniker, which will perform famous works by Glinka, Chopin and Dvorak. Another great choice is a contemporary music show entitled “Travelling Notes” performed by students of Violin Club.

Ho Chi Minh City
With the chance of rain at 60%, Ho Chi Minh City will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms both day and night. Heat index ranging from 33 oC to 35 oC is a refresh from the previous scorching hot days. This weekend, head to the exciting exhibition entitled “The Echo” by artist Vo Xuan Huy, which connects ancient symbols, ancient patterns, guns, industrial wastes etc. to become highlights on lacquer.

Da Nang
This weekend the temperature in Da Nang will fluctuate dramatically from 23 oC to 32 oC. At day the weather is partly cloudy with chance of rain 20%. At night the sky is expected to be clear with a chance of thunderstorm and rain at 70% with rainfall amounts near 1.3mm possible. To escape the rain, visit the Cham Museum, the main attraction of Da Nang with an excellent collection of Cham art and sculpture. Alternatively the three-storey Ho Chi Minh museum is a sensible excursion for museum lovers curious about Vietnam's history.

Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh Flight at $50
As part of the new promotion program launched by Vietnam Airlines, fares between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City/Nha Trang/Buon Ma Thuot are fixed at VND 1,100,000 and fares on shorter routes from Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City to Hue/Da Nang are charged at VND650,000. The national flag carrier of Vietnam is continuously offering promotion tickets, especially in summer time when travelling demand usually rises among domestic travelers.
Train fare Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang and Hue discounted by 10%
A 10% discount rate on ticket fare is offered for all carriages from Ho Chi Minh City to Hue, while passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang get 10% off for seat ticket and 5% for berth ticket. Tickets can be purchased online at vetau.com or booked free of charge from anywhere within a 7km radius of ticket outlets.
Painting exhibition of memories of ancient Hue
An exhibition entitled “Memories of Hue” is being held at Tu Do Gallery (53 Ho Tung Mau, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) from 7 to 27 July 33. Oil and silk paintings by two well-known painters, Nguyen Khoa Nhy and Ton Nu Tuong Hoa bring back memories of the old Hue city, expressed in various fields, from people to nature, society to culture and from the past to the present.
Concert on Lao culture days in Vietnam
As part of the ‘Lao Culture Days in Vietnam’ program from 16 to 20 July, a group of 47 artists from Lao National Art Troupe is delivering a concert at Hanoi Opera House at 8:00pm on July 17. The concert will feature both the traditional performing art and modern one of Laos, including dancing, singing and modeling fashion.
