How much is Vietnam visa fee?
It depends on where you apply for your Vietnam visa.
- If you apply at a local embassy, check directly on the embassy or consulate website for the most updated fee. This may cost you $50-200 depending on visa type and which embassy you apply at.
- If you apply for a visa on arrival, the fee often includes the visa letter processing fee and the stamping fee when you arrive at Vietnamese airport. This may cost you $50-100 depending on your length of stay and whether you need the emergency visa service
- If you apply for an e-visa, the fee is between $25-50 depending on the type of visa. Please note that not all nationalities are qualified for e-visa.
Who needs a visa to enter Vietnam?
If your nationality does not show on the visa exemption list, or you do not hold a diplomatic passport, you need a visa to enter Vietnam.
Prior to 2020, the visa exemption list includes Southeast Asian countries, Nordic countries, East Asian countries (Japan, South Korea) and the 5 European countries (UK, Spain, Italy, Germany and France). Visitors from these countries often can stay less than 15 days without a visa.
If you plan to stay longer than that, make sure to obtain a visa in advance as the visa extension may be both costly and time consuming while you are already in the country.
