Tips for visiting Da Nang in January

January is one of the “coldest” months in a year with temperature ranging from 19°C to 23°C. Though the number of rainy days is quite high (20 days), the precipitation (130 mm) which is only half of what it was in the previous month, makes the weather is generally better in January then in December. However, temperature of water which drops to its lowest level of the year at 21°C makes January not a good time to swim and join in other water sports in this coastal city. One should put on long clothes and even a light coat (at night) in the “coldest” month.

Traveling to Danang city this month, tourists can immerse themselves in festive atmosphere of the up coming Tet holiday. People rush for Tet shopping, and main streets are lit up and decorated with colorful flowers and flags these days. 

Tourists should not miss out on the Spring Flower Festival held in March 29th Park to enjoy beautiful flower installations, vibrant music performances and join in exciting folk games like human chess, swinging. Besides, visiting Da Nang or any other big cities in Vietnam at the end of January; tourists have a big chance to appreciate colorful firework displays on the Tet Eve.

As the intermediate month between damp and dry season, January is quite rainy month and not really a good time for entertainments. Tourists should wait until February, when the weather gets warmer and drier to visit Danang.
