Soc Trang Geography
Soc Trang City was upgrade from a town to a capital city of Sóc Trăng Province in 2007. The city is about 240km south of Ho Chi Minh City and 60 km southeast of Can Tho city. Divided into 10 administrative divisions numbered 1 to 10, Soc Trang City borders Long Phú District in the east and north, Mỹ Tú District in the west and north, Châu Thành District in the west and Mỹ Xuyên District in the south. The name “Soc Trang” comes from a Khmer name “Srok Kh'leang” which means “a place where silver is stored.” The following has the majority of tourist attractions of Soc Trang.
