Tips for Vietnam visa

- Six (06) months validity passport rule: Make sure your passport has at least 6 months remaining and 2 blank pages, otherwise your entry to Vietnam will be denied. So, if your passport is going to expire, it's time to renew!
- Vietnam offers a straightforward visa on arrival in Vietnam. However, this visa problem will require a pre-approved visa letter from the Immigration Office. Therefore, make sure you have the approval letter prior to your arrival.
- Visa on arrival is for travelers arriving by air only. If you get in Vietnam by land or sea, it is advised that you get your visa prior or lodge for an e-visa application.
- Your visa extensions on any single entry to Vietnam cannot exceed the length of your original visa. If you hold a 90-day single entry visa, you can extend for a maximum of another 90 days.
- It is not recommended that you bring your passport all the times. It is because in case you lose it, you may not be able to get a replacement in time for your flight home. So, keep it safe!
- There is no photo service or machine at Vietnam airport, it is advised that you prepare at least 2 passport size photos before landing in Vietnam.
- You do not require an airport transit visa for Vietnam if you are: on a transit flight or an aircraft crew member.
